How To Create PBXware Multi Tenant Instance on Amazon EC2

Thank you for your interest in Bicom Systems' Free MT @ EC2 with 100 extensions and 16 Channels including unlimited VoIP, PSTN and Custom Trunks, Conferences, IVR, Queues, Voicemail, Custom Extensions, Call Recordings, Remote Access, Call Monitoring and DIDs.

Your Free MT @ EC2 is provided as an unsupported venture. It may be used to permit you to trial the software before consulting for a production system or indeed to start a business without capital investment.

To later transfer the complete PBXware image on Amazon EC2 to a production system is a simple copy-paste with Bicom Systems' Technologies.

For Bicom Systems to latterly support a Multi Tenant system it will needs to be in production and with a proper support contract. Please contact sales@bicomsystems.com to this purpose.

This 'How To' will guide you through process of creating PBXware Multi Tenant instance on Amazon EC2. Please follow the steps carefully and slowly.

Requirements

- Bicom Systems' account. To register your free Bicom Systems account click here[1].

- Free MT@EC2 license.

To get your Free MT@EC2 license please Contact Us, make sure you complete the Contact Us form and check the "Free MT@EC2" checkbox.

- An Amazon Web Services EC2 account, to be had at: http://aws.amazon.com/ec2/

- PLEASE NOTE You have to go through the credit card process but you will be using the free option.

Step By Step

1.

- Click on "AWS Menagement Console"

- Navigate to EC2 page.

- Click on Region select box and choose one of the following regions: US East (Virginia), Europe West (Ireland) or Asia Pacific (Singapore).

- Click on Launch Instances button.

- Click on Community AMIs tab then enter PBXware in to the search field in order to find Bicom Systems PBXware template.

- Once shown Click on Select button for PBXware 3-1 template.

- Select Instance Type: as per your preferable choice.

- Click on Continue button.

- Use default values for Advanced Instances Options or select/enter your preferable values.

- Click on Continue button.

- Leave blank field or enter your preferable values.

- Click on Continue button.

- Select your existing, create a new or precede without a key Par as per your preferable choice.

- Click on Continue button.

- Select Create a new Security Group.

- Make sure you open following ports: TCP 22, 80, 81, 443, 5060, 5222, 5223, 10005 UDP 0 - 65535

- Click on Continue button.

- Following adding each ports, screen will look like this

- Click on Launch button.

PLEASE NOTE

- Navigate to Elastic IPs page.

- Make sure to assign a Static IP address to your newly created PBXware instance if Amazon has not already done so.

- Open your favorite web browser and type in Static IP address you have assigned to your newly created PBXware instance. Example: 212.33.212.58

- For PBXware Setup Wizard instruction please refer to PBXware Multi Tenant How To Guide

- PLEASE NOTE When PBXware Wizard is completed navigate to Settings:Protocols SIP.

In External IP enter Elastic Public IP associated with your EC2 instance. Example: 212.33.212.58

In Local network enter local network/subnet of your EC2 instance. Example: 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0

Otherwise one way audio is present.

Troubleshooting

Elastic IP Address not working

Possible cause:

If you STOP and then START PBXware instance in AWS Management Console, Elastic IP address will be disassociated from PBXware instance.

Solution:

1.

- Navigate to Elastic IPs page.

- Find and select Elastic IP Address disassociated from your PBXware instance.

- Click on Associate Address button.

- In popup windows select your PBXware instance and click on Yes, Associate button.

3.

- Elastic IP Address is now again associated with your PBXware instance.


PBXware deamon is not running

Top Previous Next Possible cause:

If you STOP and then START PBXware instance in AWS Management Console, PBXware deamon will stop to run.

Solution:

1.

- Navigate to System: Services.

- A popup window will appear.

- Enter root User Name and Password.

- User Name: root

- Password: password you entered in PBXware Setup Wizard for the root.

- Click on System Restart button.

- Click on OK button to confirm System restart.

- Wait 1 to 2 minutes in order for System to restart.

6.

- Refresh PBXware administration page and PBXware deamon not running message at the top will disappear.

One way audio

Possible cause:

Protocol SIP not configured or not configured correctly.

Solution: 1.

- Navigate to Settings:Protocols SIP.

In External IP enter Elastic Public IP associated with your EC2 instance. Example: 212.33.212.58

In Local network enter local network/subnet of your EC2 instance. Example: 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0
