HOWTO Changing System IP Address

To change the IP address of a working system:


PBXware 3.0 and older

  • Notify your Bicom Systems account manager about the changes and provide your new IP and MAC address. In this example, we'll use the following: 192.168.1.5/255.255.255.0
  • Login to the system shell as a root user
  • Edit the net file
 nano /etc/conf.d/net 
  • Add the following lines:
 config_eth0=( "192.168.1.5 netmask 255.255.255.0 brd 192.168.1.255" ) 
 routes_eth0=( "default gw 192.168.0.1" )
  • Exit the editor
 Press 'CTRL + O' 
 Press 'CTRL + X' 
  • Restart the eth0
 /etc/init.d/net.eth0 restart


PBXware 3.1.x and 3.8.x

  • Login to the system shell as a root user
  • For PBXware 3.8.x and later enter command
 netsetup
  • For PBXware 3,1.x and older enter command
net-setup

This will start Network Interface Configuration Manager wizard that will lead you through the setup process.

Notify your Bicom Systems account manager about the changes and provide your new IP and MAC address. After your license is rearmed please re-license your PBXware.
