In case you are running PBXware version 5.x or version 6.x and you would like to have it updated to version 7, this is considered an upgrade and this procedure has to be performed by our support engineers. In order to create an upgrade request you will need to do it through PBXware Upgrade Wizard.
To access the PBXware upgrade wizard, please login to your account on https://account.bicomsystems.com/ and navigate to ‘Licenses' in the left menu. Find and select license number of the PBXware you wish to upgrade and click ‘Request Upgrade’ button. This will take you to an upgrade wizard which will collect the necessary information needed to start the upgrade ticket with our support department.
Please note, due to its complexity, upgrade procedure is not covered by our support contract nor our hosting contract, so regardless if customers are hosted in our data centers or not, upgrade procedure will always be invoiced additionally.
Upgrade price will depend on the region you are located in, and will be presented to you in PBXware Upgrade Wizard.
In case your system is running PBXware version 22.214.171.124 and you would like to perform an update to latest available version (i.e. 7.0.1) all you need to do is to log in to your PBXware Setup Wizard and follow the steps described in Update Procedure section below.
However, if your system is running PBXware v7.0.0 and you would like to perform an update to v7.1 or in case you are running on v6.4.3 and want to update to v6.5 this is considered a major UPDATE
In this case, our support engineers will need to make a small modification on your system in order to allow you to apply next major update, so you will need to open a new ticket with our support with Subject "PBXware Update request from X.X to latest", where you will replace X.X with your current PBXware version (i.e 6.4).
NOTE: For customers hosted in our data centers, our Support engineers will make the modification, create full system backup and perform the update free of charge, but customers hosting their own servers will need to do the update on their own, as this is not covered by our standard support contract.
We will be glad to enable major update for all customers free of charge to allow non-hosted customers to perform the update, however in case you are not feeling comfortable and would like us to perform this update for you, please note this is not covered by standard support contract and would have to be invoiced additionally.
Update price will depend on the region you are located in, so please contact support for more information.
NOTE: Although we do not expect any issues during the update process, you should not proceed with updating your system before you create a fresh PBXware backup you could revert to in case something goes wrong in the process.
Once backup is created and you are ready to start the update open PBXware address followed by :81 in your browser.
After you are prompted for password, enter your system's root password to authenticate with Setup Wizard.
Once you are logged in, click Updates in the left navigation panel.
In updates section, you should see that latest version for both Setup Wizard and PBXware is 126.96.36.199
Once you are ready to perform the update click Toggle buttons for Update and Restart, for both Setup Wizard and PBXware and click Start button. Once process is completed status next to each of the services should show OK.
Please be aware that this will update the files and perform restart of both PBXware and Setup Wizard services, which will drop any live calls, so please make sure to do this in off hours.
