In order to upgrade the systems successfully, it is important to be familiar with different software versions.
The software versions are defined as follows:
Major releases introduce significant and breaking changes on the protocol and software architecture level.
|Example: PBXware 5.x introduced breaking compatibility changes compared to PBXware 4.x.|
Minor releases introduce a planned single development iteration containing a list of features and bug fixes.
|Example: PBXware 5.1 introduced a list of features and bug fixes.|
Micro releases introduce a list of bug fixes (and/or sometimes smaller features) between two minor iterations.
|Example: PBXware 5.1.2 introduced a list of bug fixes.|
